Research Interests:

Variational Quantum Algorithms,

Optimization,

Classical Shadows,

QGANs

My name is Ioannis Kolotouros, I'm a PhD student at the Quantum Software Lab in the University of Edinburgh with a BSc on Physics and an MSc on Theoretical Physics. My research is focused on the design and improvement of near-term quantum algorithms. My main interests lie on the practical side of near-term quantum algorithms and whether these can offer a valuable advantage over their classical counterparts. For that reason I have worked both on improving subsequent parts of Variational Quantum Algorithms but also designed new novel algorithms inspired by Adiabatic Quantum Computing. On top of that, I'm working on Quantum Machine Learning and I'm interested in Classical Shadows, QGANs and the optimization part of VQAs.
