Joseph K. L. Lee
Applications Consultant, EPCC, University of Edinburgh
Research Interests:
HPC-QC integration, Quantum programming models
Joseph is a HPC Applications Consultant at EPCC, University of Edinburgh. He completed his PhD in theoretical particle Physics at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on simulating quantum field theories on the lattice. His current quantum-related research interests involve the integration of High-Performance Computing (HPC) with Quantum Computing (QC), and designing programming models to facilitate HPC applications harnessing quantum resources. Some of his past contributions include using the OpenMP target interface for offloading quantum computation in HPC applications, and benchmarking quantum state vector simulations on GPUs. Back in the classical realm, his other research interests lie in novel computing architectures, such as RISC-V and Cerebras WSE.
